The verdict is in: Takeru is a Ravenclaw. We guessed right, Miyu! Not that it's all that surprising, but whatever! It's noteworthy anyway. He seems to be adjusting well; he's a clever one and should fit right in. I haven't even heard of any first week detentions, which is a very good sign, if I do say so!
Having electronics sent home is of course a smidge lame, but! I guess the professors have got their reasoning and all, so it's not really a huge big deal. My hand gets cramped when I try to write too much too fast. Sadly. I'm hoping that stops happening once I get more used to doing a whole lot of handwriting instead typing. Is anyone else having handcramp issues, or is that just me?
I've tried using a pen, which is definitely easier, but I think I've joined the camp of finding these quills to be fun to use, and I can't decide really what I want my journal to look like, even after two weeks, but I guess I'll figure it out eventually.
I'm glad to not have OWL stress this year, and I won't have real NEWT stress until next year, but NEWT-levels are still kind of that step up doozy.

I know quite a number of people seem personally offended that we would be given journals to handwrite in, but I actually find it sort of fun to try to write with a quill. People (okay, some people) have been talking about the colour, but I wonder if we can charm it another colour? I would think so, unless they are so insistent on it being brown that they have disabled any altering. Which seems a little bit ridiculous and excessive, but I guess it's not totally impossible. Maybe something to try.
School starts in a week, and I still need to buy my supplies. Probably shouldn't have waited this long, but I just haven't gotten around to it yet, I guess. "But I'm not the only one" probably won't fly as an excuse, though, so I ought to get on that.
